Geneva Airport by coach: pick-up at P6, set-down upstairs

Geneva keeps it simple, and strict. Every professional pick-up goes through P6 – Gare routière, the bus station that sits beside the arrivals floor of the terminal. Nobody is collected at Kiss & Fly or at the terminal door, so your plan starts at P6.

Collecting the group at P6

From the arrivals hall, travellers follow the 'Coach Station' signs to P6. It sits behind a barrier and is only for professional passenger transport linked to the airport. An occasional coach takes a ticket at the entry and pays at a machine before leaving, in 15-minute blocks.

P6 has 12 pick-up bays plus four extra coach bays along the kerb; the largest bays take vehicles up to 12.5 m long. Any stop longer than 3 minutes means switching the engine off. Every block is charged, so the coach should arrive in step with the group, not an hour early.

Small vehicles and winter weekends

P6 admits shuttles and minibuses of 2 m or more in height, or with more than 9 seats including the driver. A smaller car with driver needs special permission, so it uses the area reserved for taxis and VTC, or a car park.

From December to April the ski groups arrive at weekends. Shuttles that come without an access card are then sent to car parks P33 or P4 instead of P6, and overflow areas can appear. Terminal 2 opens only on winter weekends, so check the terminal on your booking.

Where the coach collects the group

  • All professional carriers must pick up passengers only at the bus station, P6 – Gare Routière, on the Arrivals level next to the terminal; arriving passengers follow the 'Coach Station' signs from the Arrivals hall. P6 is reserved for professional passenger transport directly linked to the airport. It admits coaches (more than 2.50 m high and/or more than 17 seats including the driver) and shuttles or minibuses (2 m to 2.49 m high and/or more than 9 seats including the driver); smaller vehicles are not admitted without special permission. Regular users hold a yearly access card per vehicle; occasional coaches and shuttles need no card and take a ticket at the entry barrier. To reach P6 from the Route des Batailleux, follow 'Aéroport', keep left and follow the short-term ('Courte durée') parking signs. For drop-off, coaches use the coach bays in the public-bus (TPG) lane on the Check-in level, near entrance 1 (keep right and follow the 'BUS CAR' lane), and minibuses and shuttles use the 'Navette' zone of the professional-transport lane; stopping there is free, but parking is not allowed. Drop-off is also possible at P6. Taxis and VTC (cars with driver) have their own reserved areas under the Geneva taxi and VTC law (H 1 31), with access cards issued by the airport; picking up is not allowed in the Kiss & Fly drop-off area. The airport publishes no group meeting point.

Coach parking and waiting

  • P6 has 12 pick-up bays: bays 1-9 take vehicles up to 12.5 m long and 4 m high, and bays 10-12 vehicles up to 10 m long and 3.5 m high; there are also 4 extra coach bays along the kerb and one bay for shuttles. Access and stay are charged in 15-minute blocks: card holders have a free first 30 or 45 minutes, and occasional users pay at an automatic pay station before leaving. Engines must be switched off for any stop of more than 3 minutes, selling tickets on site is forbidden, and a vehicle with an access card cannot re-enter within 15 minutes of leaving. On winter weekends (December to April) occasional shuttles without a card are not admitted to P6 and use car parks P33 or P4 instead; the airport may also set up overflow areas, assign waiting areas or link access times to the actual landing time. The 2026 tariff sheet marks vehicles of the Euro 2 and Euro 3 emission standards as not admitted in its access-card table.

By coach to the centre

  • about 5 km by road to the Pont du Mont-Blanc, in the centre of Genève, about 15 min by coach in light traffic; longer at peak times

Setting down for the flight home

Departures work differently. On the Check-in level a coach sets down at the coach bays in the public-bus lane near entrance 1: keep right and follow the 'BUS CAR' lane. Minibuses use the 'Navette' zone of the professional lane. Stopping is free, parking is not allowed.

The airport's 2026 tariff sheet marks Euro 2 and Euro 3 vehicles as not admitted. If the coach comes from elsewhere, have its emission standard stated on the quote.

From Geneva to the lake and the mountains

The Pont du Mont-Blanc in the city is about 5 km away, about 15 minutes in light traffic. Lausanne takes about 55 minutes, Montreux about 1 h 15 min, and Chamonix, across the French border, about 1 h 30 min.

Verbier and Gstaad are each about 2 h 30 min; for Verbier the operator confirms whether the coach stops at Le Châble for the gondola. Zermatt is car-free: the coach stops at Matterhorn Terminal Täsch, about 3 h 30 min away, and the group takes the shuttle train.

What organisers ask us

Can we meet the coach at Kiss & Fly?

No. Picking up there is not allowed. All professional pick-ups take place at P6 on the Arrivals level.

Where should the group gather after baggage claim?

The airport names no group meeting point. Decide on one in the arrivals hall with the operator before travel, and tell the group leader which bay at P6 to head for.

Some of us fly from the France Sector. Can the coach collect them there?

Not easily. The only road into the France Sector is the customs road from Ferney-Voltaire, on the French side. Passengers holding a ticket for that day may walk through to the Swiss sector, which is simpler for a group.
